How often should I change the matching pee pads?

It depends on your piggies and setup, but most customers change them every 1–3 days. Swap them out when they feel damp or show visible staining—it’s all about keeping things fresh and comfy.

Will my guinea pig chew the sack or the pee pads?

It’s rare, but it can happen—especially with curious or younger piggies. Try placing chew toys near or in the bed to redirect nibbling.

Will my guinea pig actually use it?

Most guinea pigs take to snuggle sacks quickly, especially if the bed is placed somewhere they can hide, like under a fleece forest. Once they get comfy, it becomes their favourite flop spot!

Will it stay open or does it collapse flat?

Most snuggle sacks do flop flat when placed in the cage—but ours is lightly structured with a padded inner layer that keeps the opening slightly open for easy entry. It’s soft enough to curl around your guinea pig once they’re inside, but firm enough not to just crumple into a pile.

Can I use this for more than one guinea pig?

Yes! Our snuggle sacks are generously sized to comfortably fit two large adult guinea pigs who like to snuggle together—or one who likes a bit more lounging space.

What if my guinea pig just sits on top of it?

That’s totally normal—many guinea pigs use the snuggle sack like a flat bed, especially in warmer weather. The lightly structured shape makes it perfect for both curling up inside or lounging on top to cool down.

Does hair stick to the fleece? Is it hard to clean?

Some hair collects on fleece, but our anti-pil fabric has a smooth finish—so it’s easy to brush or remove with a lint roller. Leaving a little behind can actually help your guinea pig feel more at home and may reduce scent marking after a clean.

💧 Washing & Care

Do I have to wash it every day?

No need! The custom-fitted pee pad inside the sack catches most of the mess. Just swap out the pad every couple of days (depending on how many pets you have), and spot-clean the sack if needed. The sack itself only needs a full wash about once a week in most cases.

Can I wash the whole thing?

Yes—both the sack and the pee pad are machine washable. We recommend a gentle 30°C cycle and air drying. They’re quick to dry and built to last through repeated washing.

Are the matching pee pads really absorbent—and is it waterproof?

Yes. The Zorb® core soaks up liquid fast, while the waterproof ripstop bottom prevents any leaks from reaching your snuggle sack.

Is the stitching and quality reliable?

Yes. Every snuggle sack is sewn with care and checked before shipping. We use strong, anti-pil fleece and durable wadding that hold up wash after wash.

Can I use fabric softener?

No—we recommend avoiding fabric softener, as it can coat the fleece fibres and stop it from wicking moisture properly.

What detergent should I use?

Use an unscented, sensitive-skin laundry detergent. Add a splash of white vinegar to help neutralise odours and refresh the fibres.

Can I wash them with other laundry?

We suggest washing snuggle sacks separately from your clothes. You can wash them with other pet items like towels or liners, but avoid mixing with human laundry. To protect your washing machine, we highly recommend using a horse laundry bag or pet laundry bag—these help contain fur and hay so your machine doesn’t get clogged.

Will washing the snuggle sacks damage my washing machine?

Not if you take a few simple precautions. Always shake off loose hay and fur first, and wash the sacks inside a horse laundry bag or pet laundry bag. These bags help contain debris and protect your machine’s filter. It’s also a good idea to check and clean the filter regularly, especially if you’re washing fleece items often.

I don't have space to air dry—why can't I tumble dry?

The Zorb core can handle moderate tumble drying, but the fleece and polycotton layers may shrink slightly over time. If you do use a tumble dryer, stick to a low or medium setting. For the longest life and best fit, we recommend air drying—heated airers or towel radiators work well and the pads dry quickly.
