How to Wash Your Guinea Pig Bedding

A squeaky-clean guide to keep your piggies cozy and your haunted home smelling fresh. 👻

1. Shake off the excess hay

Give your bedding a good spooky shake to banish hay, poops, and fluff. Less mess in the machine = happier spells!

2. Pop the bedding in a pet laundry bag

This traps hay and fur to protect your washing machine from clogging. It also keeps your piggy snuggles safe during the wash!

3. Add the laundry detergent

Use a fragrance-free, pet-safe detergent. Do not use fabric softener or stain remover — they can reduce absorbency and irritate piggy skin.

4. Push the zip into the pocket

This little trick keeps the bag zipped tight through the cycle. No mid-wash escapes allowed!

5. Pop the bag into the washing machine

Your piggy bedding is now prepped for a spin in the underworld... or, well, your washer.

6. Wash on the cottons cycle at 30°C

The cotton cycle spins longer and helps pull out moisture. The synthetic cycle just doesn't haunt long enough. 🌀

7. Air dry the bedding

Hang it like a festive ghost garland! Skip the tumble dryer — it can shrink or warp the fleece. Sunshine or indoor drying racks work perfectly.
